Injected Pro Fuel revisited

Postby admin » Wed Mar 28, 2018 1:49 pm

Been talking with some folks for a bit, Started with Scott and Seth Hooper, and recently, Armon Furr in Particular, and Keep going back to looking at an Injected Pro Fuel Class..
If we do this right, we can make room for a B-Fuel Class [nostalgic if ya like] and Hopefully eliminate the Huge Jump from Carbureted high gear to Basically a top fuel Motorcycle.. This may mean that Nitro FunnyBike has Run it's course IDK
Please look this over, and lets Begin a Meaningful... Pro and Con
Conversation about such a Thing
Please Note; This is a Conversation... about the Future... For us all..

NEW PRO FUEL RULES

125 ci (?)
Injected
Limited to 13 gallon fuel pump

Single stage clutch lock up with compressed air cannon only.
(Rex harris and I sat down and talked about this and I also made a
proto type but never did follow through)

MSD mc-4, mc-3 or dyna 4000 ignition allowed
MSD top fuel ign prohibited.

Single intake only. Possible throat size limit

12 inch tire (?)

Weight break (?)
Never going to make everyone happy no matter this rule

all other general rules apply

$2000 win
$1000 ru
$500 semi
$250 quarter

SOME PEOPLE WILL NOT LIKE THIS BUT THEY WILL SOON NOT LIKE IT
WHILE THEY ARE HOME BECAUSE THERE WILL BE NOWHERE
TO RACE UNLESS YOU CAN GO STRAIT TO TOP FUEL RACING

There needs to be a stepping stone to Top Fuel. Funny bike was it but that class seams
to be diminishing and pro fuel is following. There was going to be a big deal about the first carbed 6 second run and now that thats been done we need to focus on THE FUTURE
these rules should allow current teams to move up to this level at a minimal cost
and the new purse structure should make that easier.

This will allow moneys to be spent for a B- fuel class for vintage and out dated
fuel bikes that we spoke about. Rules to be determined

$500 win
$250 ru
$125 semi
These are Not the Payout Numbers Armon wants... but that can be addressed at another time..

Game On... Please respond Here Pro/Con..
and Thanks Armon for givin a Shit... enough to have thought this out to this Extent..

I’m confused. Two points -

1) Rich is right, he makes a valid and strong point
2) I recall a conversation with Marty at the awards banquet that NFB was GROWING and bikes were being built for the class. WTH happened since November?

I have no issue with a B-Fuel class, I think it’s a great idea. Correct me if I’m wrong, wasn’t it intended to get more fuel bikes running, albeit nostalgia or other bike that conforms with the rules that would increase overall participation in the Fuel classes?

I do Not believe FunnyBike is anywhere near dying out... I think it will be with us for a quite long time.. Carbureted Bikes are Holding their Own.. But, not growing... B Fuel... I like it, but, Money is always an obstacle...
Remember that this New Proposal is Something to be looking at for The Future... Not tomorrow!!!
Looking Back is Not a good Plan... looking forward... without letting it influence today too much.... can't hurt!!
Thanks for Any/All input..
